Bad to worse.

There's nothing like getting pooped on in the wee hours of the morning and not knowing it until you rub it on your nose. (I feed and change him in the dark.)

There's nothing like a fussy baby who only eats a quarter of what he's supposed to every 45 minutes - starting at 3 am, ensuring you are grumpy and irritable when you get up three hours later...if you were ever down in the first place.

There's nothing like getting a phone call first scolding you for something you inadvertantly did wrong.

There's nothing like getting an email from your insurance saying you owe hundreds of dollars worth of doctor's visits for your newborn...who apparently saw a psychiatrist in Texas the day after he was born...in Nevada, and knowing you have to fight them on it.

And to top it off, there's nothing quite like getting your first rejection letter from a publisher saying they don't feel strongly enough about your work to pursue it.

I guess I just have to hope that tomorrow is better.

Good thing I know what is really important: this little ball of wiggles in my arms who can't decide if he's hungry or if he has sour tummy, if he wants held or put down, if he wants his binkie or not...

Ahhhh.... Pin It

You poor thing! Welcome to motherhood. Just keep your chin up and keep in mind that there's always tomorrow. Things will start to look up!
I hope Seth starts feeling better and that the next publisher has his head on straight and realizes that your book is truly amazing and awesome!
Love ya!!!

Oh, and those publishers will kick themselves when you make your first million. Just sayin'.

I'm sorry you had such a terrible day. It's always worse when your sleep total is about 8 minutes, give or take :) Good luck with the stupid insurance company. Do they not even look at birth dates? What NEWBORN needs a psychiatrist. Seriously. Dumb.

You're doing a great job with your little man, and it's hard, but always worth taking the time to remember who you get to take care of (and I know you always remember that :) )

Biggest hugs EVER to you!

I agree with Kimi, those publishers are going to be kicking themselves when they discover that they could have made millions... Don't give up. Jess has a co-worker that submitted to several companies before she got published. She said it is VERY difficult because they want you to be published, but no one is willing to publish a newbee...

Nice on the Texas Newborn Visit. I'd love to hear the notes on that visit... "So how you feeling Seth?" "Well, you know, I just got pushed out of a canal in the early morning hours and had some complications for a few hours, but other than that, I am in a good place." I mean come on people! I sware they just don't have their brains in right.

Everything else... UG! I hate "days like this." Atleast you get to proclaim that you have days like this now... right? :-)

We all have those days! I'm so sorry that you are having the insurance run-around. I've been getting bills from Kayla's doctor in Idaho for recent visits even though we haven't lived there for almost 2 years! So I know exactly what you are going through.

Don't let the rejections from publishers get you discouraged. It only takes one yes :) Besides, you have the CUTEST little boy that anyone could ask for!

I'm sorry you had a crappy day. Even when everyone tells you that everyone has those days, it still doesn't make you feel better, huh? :) Hahaha.

Hope today was better!

And yes, your book is amazing and some publisher is not going to be able to pass it up. It's just finding that one. :) But never doubt your work, because it's great. :)

Sorry to hear that you had such a rotten day. No or little sleep really makes everything worse for me. Just saw your comment about Seth still being in your room. Our place is little enough that I moved her to her room. She grunts a lot sometimes, or wont sleep till like 2am so I felt bad for Dave and moved her out. I bet you have more decorating skills than you think. It is hard though. Good luck with those tummy aches...hope everyone feels better soon!
