So...why aren't you reviewing books?

I'm a little behind on book reviews. My goal this year is to read 100 books. That's about 8 books a month. Which is about 2 books a week. Should be easy, right?

So, why haven't I been posting lots of reviews?

Well...it's a long story. Basically it boils down to the fact that I get all my books from the local library, and a certain little boy who shall remain anonymous (but he's about 2 1/2 feet tall and calls me mom) threw away the case to one of the DVD's we checked out from the library. He has a nasty habit of throwing valuables in the garbage. Now I owe the library ridiculous amounts of money to replace the entire DVD, and I can't check out books until it's paid.

Oy.

Don't worry, though. I'm off to the library today (as soon as I change out of my bathrobe) to pay the fine and pick up my reserved copy of The Dark Divine by Bree Despain. Can't wait!

By the way, welcome to all my new readers! I've had a few more readers thanks to Goodreads and Book Blogs. Welcome, welcome! Thanks for stopping by.  Pin It

Oooh, that's too funny!!! The things our little ones put us through sometimes. I almost hate borrowing things because I never know what might happen to them in the house with 5 kids! Good luck at the library!

Oh man, we know! We've got a toddler, which is the reason we won't check books out at the library. She can't even have a cardboard book that lasts more than three days still.

Probably the reason why we always take MS's by email, we wouldn't be able to promise authors their works back by SASE if they wanted it. Not without a bite mark guarantee.

Good luck at the library Deborah! FYI, I enjoy your book reviews. The only problem is that then I want to read all the books that you review, and I just can't!

OH man. I had to pay $33 because my kids lost a book. Granted it was a HUGE book, but $33??? It was sad, but is now paid. They said if I find it I can return the book and get some of my money back. That, my friend, is still a work in progress lol

I'm following from Book Blogs. I LOVE your button. It's sooo cute.

Thanks for following my blog and for the Book Blogs comments! I'm getting used to things over there, and will try to get around to doing more.

I entered your giveaway on Goodreads. Looks like just the sort of book I'd like!

I have a few of those little boys at my house. Good luck!!! Some days I think I live in a zoo instead of a house, especially when I have to wade through the house.

Hi Deborah,
I"m following you from book blogs. It looks like we have similar book interests. :)
I have a little one like that at my house too! He thinks it's hilarious to try to rip the pages out of books. Hope it worked out for you.

Kathy,

Thanks for following!

Everything turned out about as well as one can hope. After insisting to the library that, yes, I owed money, and, yes, I wanted my dvd, they finally found someone who knew what I was talking about. I paid $24 for a movie. ($21.99 plus late fees for the days I spent looking for the dang case before I sheepishly returned the movie without it.)

Oy.

Oh well. It's now my son's new favorite movie, and I fall asleep at night singing, "Baby, Baby, Baby Signing Time."
